What can a PT do for you?

Besides count reps…

Let’s be real tho - you’re not parting with your hard-earned for someone to COUNT for you (also I’m VERY BAD at counting reps so 🤷🏻‍♀️). Then what CAN a personal trainer do for you? Well let’s start with (almost) ANYTHING. I say “almost” because my mind goes to filthy places. That could just be me. Look, it’s called “personal” training for a reason, YOU tell ME what you want to achieve and we go from there. But if you’re really stuck and thinking well “I could do with a PT” but can’t quite put your finger on why - here are some things I’m REALLY GOOD at (mind…gutter…get out):

Keeping you accountable

If you’re struggling with “getting into routine”  with your fitness, I can help you get on track. By having a few sessions booked with me over a period of time, at the very least you will turn up to our sessions so you can start forming a habit. “But Marie/b*tch face” I hear you say “I could just not turn up to our sessions”, sure thing money bags.

Providing a sense check

If you’re already in a good routine but you’re not 100% sure what you’re doing is moving you toward your goal - GIMMIE GIMME LEMME LOOK. Already I’ve looked over programs Vs goals and made tweaks where necessary. Here’s a recent example:

Client wants to improve upper body strength: identified in their current program weights were too light and after checking form, confirmed we could increase load (and by “we” I mean “them”). They were also missing a critical muscle group and movement which we later added and removed one redundant exercise.

Being your wing-man

Terrified of the gym floor? Don’t know where to start? I’ll be your wing-man/person. I will create you a program that starts where you’re at and hold your hand (with consent - obvi) to get you settled on the gym floor. As a group fitness and Pilates instructor I can also recommend and talk you through the various classes available at Fitness First to help you create the ultimate routine to make the most of your membership and every square inch of the facility. Except the stair machine. F*ck that thing.
